Men In Love Part 1 2 3

Starring: Tonto Dikeh as Whitney, John Dumelo as Charles, Muna Obiekwe as Alex

Genre: Drama

Overall: The intricacies of marriage and the delicately torpid route is a must for every marriage for every couple. Charles' escapades have always been the bane in his marriage. His wife Whitney dearly loves her husband and would do all it takes to hold on to the pieces. Queries and reconciliation dictates the union on a daily basis, but for how much longer? What happens if the problems simply become intolerable his flagrancy transcends beyond established norms

My rating is: 20%

Should you watch it: Still not sure based on what I saw. If you watch you’ll know what I mean.

Performance of the Actors: OK so here it goes. I’m going to review this movie in two parts.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

Part 1: The Objective Professional

This is 9ja’s version and call to Broke back Mountain. If this was Hollyweird John Dumelo would have been nominated for an Oscar Muna would be best supporting actor. The fact that a Nollywood movie is openly exploring the act of homosexuality in an open albeit convoluted way is very brave. I saw some of the interviews where John was defending himself saying he wasn’t gay & that he was just acting and I felt for the guy. The truth is all actors hope to land a role in which everyone talks about how great your acting was. And I believe this was an attempt at that. The problem with this film is that it was too long, unrealistic and poorly written.

Part 2: The Unprofessional

Many of you out there might be mad at my response but on a personally level this film was disgusting. I mean really how many women can you sleep with and go back and sleep with your wife. And then bet the Twinkie in a man on man relationship. It was obvious that you were not using condoms since by the beginning of part 3 Tonto is preggers. I mean really has anybody ever heard of HIV / AIDS!!!!!!!!!!!! Nimrods!!!!!! The entire angle that through rape John is converted in to a homosexual and then charmed in to loving Alex is soooo farfetched that it was practically retarded. And that scene where she catches them in the act made me cringe... maybe it was the wife in me that felt her pain. But really at that point I was like Batty man fi dead! That couldn’t be me. If that was my hubby I would have to kill somebody.

Anyways watch the movie if you wish but over all I gave the movie a 20 because the acting wasn’t up to snuff from my regulars – maybe due to the subject matter and also the writing wasn’t there for a good story line.

Intimidation 1&2, Beyond Intimidation 1&2

Starring: Mike Ezuronye as Ike, Ini Edo as Zainab, Koffi Adjorlolo as Murktar, and Tonto Dikeh as Aisha

Genre: Drama

Overall: Trying to get your life back could mean you have to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight. What do you do when a ray of sunshine disturbs your darkness?

My rating is: 73%

Should you watch it: Good watch.

Performance of the Actors: I really enjoyed this movie. The acting was on point. The story could have used more work to provide a fuller experience for the viewer but at least it’s not the usual Nollywood junk that has graces my eyes lately. The situations could have been more thought out and ultimately they tried to tie up loose ends without much thinking. Good movie on a slow night , will keep you entertained.

Who Am I ? Part 1 & 2

Starring: Jim Iyke, Yvonne Nelson, Franchesca Gray

Genre: Drama

Overall: A gentle heart rescues him from the slums and he pays her back with his ever roving eyes. Of course he is the toast of the city...Casanova extraordinary...Now he is down and out again...Swimming in very troubled waters

My rating is: 90%

Should you watch it: YES

Performance of the Actors: I liked this movie But I must say that it wasn’t the acting that got me it was the story well written and for sure worth the watch.

Soul Desire 1 & 2

Starring: Tonto Dikeh as Imelda, James Gardener as Mike , Ecow Smith Asante as Dave, Dominic Kofi Demordzi as Alex, Ruffy Samuel as Jeff

Genre: Drama / Romance

Overall: Jeff and Imelda are deeply in love but Imelda is lonely Jeff is always working and no matter how hard she tries to keep the romance alive Jeff pays attention for a moment and then he is gone. Then she meets Mike. Mike gives her all the things her husband won’t and more but at what price? Will she find the strength to fight it?

My rating is: 80%

Should you watch it: Yes

Performance of the Actors: First the bad: Can we get rid of those wack Americana accents...PLEASE!!!!!!!!! They run throughout the movie to the annoyance of my ears. And please Mr. Soundman can you ensure you’re getting good sound so that when the editors (if they exist) are doing their thing we don’t have to strain to hear what they are saying.

Now for the good: This is a real good a touching story line. And folks this really happens loneliness can drive a man or woman to areas that they never thought they would go. Head the message in this movie and make sure you show the one you are with all the love in the world.

Some of the scenes are too long like the phone scene in the bed and there is too much of the slow motion thing throughout the movie but over all a good movie.
